Card Design Requirements

Overview

Wirex provides Adobe Illustrator templates for every card format in the program. Artwork is placed in the Your Design layer of the supplied template and returned in editable .ai format.

Four templates are available, supplied together in one archive:

Templates are also issued by the Wirex delivery manager together with the BMAS form at Stage 2 of the launch journey. Artwork cannot be submitted to Visa until it matches the requirements below.

Plastic Card Requirements

Applies to both the horizontal and vertical formats.

Color specification	Pantone references or CMYK codes for every design element, as whole numbers with no decimals
Bleed	Background colors and images must extend across the entire card, including the bleed area
Elements	All logos and elements outlined and vectorized
Gradients	Avoid — they print inconsistently. Flat colors are recommended
Typography	IBM Plex Sans only, in the weights and sizes defined in the template

Additional rules for the horizontal format:

The signature panel must not be placed behind the chip.
The VALID THRU field must sit at least 2 mm further away from the Visa hologram bird to meet scheme requirements.

Digital Wallet Card Art

Digital wallet card art is the image shown in the partner application and in the wallets the card is provisioned to.

Visa Brand Mark Placement

Distance from card edges	Exactly 56 px from both edges
Clear space	56 px around the mark
Edging	The Visa Brand Mark with Platinum identifier must have no edging
Contrast	Sufficient contrast against the background design

No-Logo Variant

The no-logo template is used where the card art must carry no partner or third-party logos. The card must contain no logos of any kind; all other requirements above are unchanged.
